Infinix Note 5 Officially Launched In The UAE, Featuring Android One And 6-inch 18:9 Display
At the Armani Hotel in Burj Khalifa, Dubai, UAE, Infinix has officially unveiled their fifth and latest iteration of Note smartphones called the Infinix Note 5. The new device features an all-new design and several hardware upgrades that include a large display with fewer bezels, faster processor, efficient battery and better camera optics.
Infinix said that the device comes with a 6-inch LTPS Infinity Display that features an aspect ratio of 18:9 and Full HD+ resolution (1080 x 2160). The smartphone packs the latest MediaTek P23 octa-core processor and aided with 3GB or 4GB RAM. The storage options come in either 32GB internal memory for the 3GB RAM variant and 64GB of space for the 4GB RAM model. And while the device supports dual SIM functionality, MediaTek mentioned that the P23 is the first mobile processor to support 4G connectivity for both the SIM cards. Additionally, the smartphone has a dedicated MicroSD card slot, so users will not need to sacrifice the need to replace one of the SIM card slots for expandable memory.
The Infinix Note 5 is also based on the Android One platform, where users are assured that they will get the purest of Android experience without the hiccups of any bloatware. The device runs on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo operating system and Infinix promises that these devices will get a firmware update for the next major Android version, and in this case, it’s easy to guess that they are talking about the future Android P OS.
As for the image quality, the rear camera features a 12MP image sensor that now comes with larger pixel area to capture more light. The sensor is aided with a smart AI that helps to capture great quality images with bokeh effects for portraits and better low-light images. The camera is also capable of recording videos up to 1080p resolution and also has the support of a dual-flash module. That said, the front camera packs a 16MP image sensor, that also includes larger pixel area for brighter selfies and bokeh effects.
The smartphone also features a large 4500 mAh battery as opposed to the 4300 mAh capacity of the previous generation. Infinix also stated that users will be able to achieve a day of battery life with just 30 minutes of fast charge called the X-Charge technology. There is also a rear-facing fingerprint scanner.
While Infinix did state that the new Note 5 will be available in Souq.com, the company did not disclose the details yet regarding that actual release dates and its UAE price. For now, after taking a look at its specifications, we can assume that the device could be priced between AED 700 to AED 1200.
