Apple Officially Launches The iPhone XS, XS Max And Apple Watch 4 In The UAE
Apple has officially launched their new smartphones called the Apple iPhone XS and the Apple iPhone XS Max at the Apple Store in Dubai Mall. The new smartphones come with new and improved hardware, along with the notable feature that the iPhone XS Max is the biggest smartphone that the Cupertino company has ever made. Apple has also launched their latest smart wearable called the Apple Watch 4 that features an ECG integrated as the world’s first.
While the new smartphones feature the best of Apple’s Super Retina OLED screens, these new displays deliver the most accurate colors on industry standards with HDR and true blacks. The Apple iPhone XS Max holds a 6.5-inch display and Apple made sure the device doesn’t look bigger than the Apple iPhone 8 Plus. It’s the largest smartphone display Apple has unveiled. The iPhone XS packs the usual 5.8-inch screen as the original iPhone X model. Thanks to the bezel-less display, the aspect ratio is 19:5:9 and has a pixel density of 458 ppi. Apple has also introduced a 120Hz panel for super smooth transitions, however, the user interface will still operate at 60fps. The resolution of the iPhone XS Max fires up at 1242 x 2688. On the other hand, the iPhone XS has a screen resolution of 1125 x 2436, the same numbers as the previous “X” model of last year.
Apple has upgraded the 3D face scanner and since the Touch ID is completely out of the picture, the facial scanner is the only biometric authentication method available on these devices. Both the smartphones are powered by the new Apple A12 Bionic hexa-core processor that’s claimed to be faster than most flagship smartphones in the market. The chip is 15& faster than the previous Apple A11 and 40% more power efficient. And the hardware is aided with 4GB RAM and a new 8-core neural engine. Users will have options to choose between the 64GB, 256GB, and 512GB of internal storage. Both the devices are also IP68 certified for dust and water resistance for up to 2m for 60 minutes.
In terms of photography, both the smartphones share the same optical specifications. There is a pair of 12MP dual-lens cameras on the rear side, one of which features an aperture of f1.8 for wide-screen shots and the other with f2.4 aperture for telephoto shots. These cameras come with the support of optical image stabilization and phase detection autofocus. The front camera features a 7MP snapper with support for 1080p video capture. The main camera is capable of recording up to 2160p at 60fps. Apple says that the image processing has significantly improved over previous generations and the depth of field can be easily adjusted based on the aperture you want.
While the smartphones don’t come with a headphone jack, the new models pack stereo speakers for surround sound. And as usual, you will need the 3.5mm adapter if you want to use your wired headphones. The Apple iPhone XS Max features a bigger 3300 mAh battery and the and the standard iPhone XS with a 2716 mAh battery. Along with the fast charge capability that fills up 50% in just 30 minutes, the new models also bring support for Qi wireless charging. While Apple has finally introduced the Dual-SIM capability, there is a catch about it. The new Apple iPhone XS and the XS Max will have a standard SIM slot and an e-SIM, which makes it a Dual-SIM according to Apple. However, there will be a special model with dual SIM slots for the Chinese market. And we hope that these models will somehow officially hit the UAE stores.
As compared to the previous generation of Apple Watches, the Series 4 now comes with a bigger 1.78-inch AMOLED display and the display is made of Sapphire glass. The processor is a dual-core S4 with 16GB of internal memory. The new Apple Watch 4 Series has a new curvy design and comes with a built-in ECG scanner, which is a world’s first in a wearable. The Apple Series 4’s new gyroscope now comes with a fall detection that tells if you have fallen.
