Overview of the Apple iPhone X

Apple is a common name in the field of technology and have been producing high-quality smartphones ever since their inception and is still continuing this. The company always introduces and integrates the latest technologies which are just introduced around the globe. Now they have introduced the much awaited, most powerful smartphone on the planet, the iPhone X or iPhone ten. This has been launched as the company is celebrating the 10^th year of successful growth. Tim Cook on the occasion of the launch of Apple iPhone X told the crowd that the new iPhone will “set the path of technology for the next decade” and “It’s the greatest leap forward since the original iPhone”.

Design and Display

Apple introduces new design over time. The iPhone X comes with the latest design which the company introduced. First time ever on an Apple product the company has come up with a bezel-less all screen display. This is a game changer for the company as the whole front area of the smartphone is integrated with a screen which has a high-resolution display. On the top of the screen, a small area is projected on to the screen which contains many tiny parts like the Ambient light sensor, Dot projector, Proximity sensor, Flood illuminator, Infrared camera, Speaker, Microphone and the Front camera. The home button on the normal iPhones is missing on this model due to the all screen feature on the device.

The smartphone comes in two colors which let users select the color they love and is definitely worth a second look. A Volume up/down button and a Ring/Silent switch are perfectly integrated on the left side of the phone while a side button is placed on the right side of the device. Like the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus this model too does not have a dedicated 3.5-mm headphone jack, instead, headphones are connected through the lightning port. The front and the rear of the phone comes with the most durable glass ever in a phone. The glass element gives the device a glossy finish and the stylish Apple logo on the rear of the device gives it an added beauty. The dual camera on the smartphone is intelligently placed on the rear of the smartphone and is accompanied by a powerful flash.

The newly launched smartphone comes with a Super Retina display with an all-screen OLED multi-touch screen. Apple states that this is the first ever OLED display that has risen to the standards of Apple. The high pixel density and the 1000000:1 contrast ratio of the device creates a stunning display to the users.

Processor and Memory

Apple says that the newly launched smartphones house a processor which is much faster than the old apple A10 processor. The new processor in the iPhone 8 and X are named as an A11 Bionic chip which has a 64-bit architecture and is 70 percent more efficient and has 25 percent faster performance than the previous A10 chip. The device also has an Embedded M11 motion coprocessor which significantly improves the performance of the device. The device is also equipped with 3 GB RAM which helps you to multitask with minimal difficulty. Unlike the previous models of the iPhone this model only comes with two storage options, the 64 GB variant and the 256 GB variant both of which can be selected according to the need of the user.

Camera

Cameras are always a great deal in Apple smartphones as all of them houses the best in class cameras and sensors. The powerful primary camera houses a dual 12-megapixel wide-angle and telephoto camera with one sensor having ƒ/1.8 aperture and another having ƒ/2.4 aperture. The combination of this powerful cameras let you take amazing pictures with minimal effort. To shoot perfect images at night a Quad LED flash is integrated with the dual-primary cameras. The camera also supports various features and settings that help you to take perfect pictures even if you know nothing about photography. The Portrait Lighting which is currently a beta version is one of the latest addition to the camera features. The phone can record 4K videos at a maximum of 60 frames per second and in Slow motion, it can shoot 1080p videos at 120 fps or 240 fps. The secondary camera on the device houses a 7- megapixel sensor which is perfect for taking selfies and video calls. The front camera also forms a part of the Face ID feature in the device. The secondary camera has amazing clarity and supports many settings and features.

Security

Apple always leads in security and customer satisfaction. The iPhone 5s was the first smartphone to feature a fingerprint sensor and all the products that launched after followed and now fingerprint sensor is a standard for consumer electronics. But, here for Apple, this has changed as the latest iPhone X does not have a fingerprint sensor instead it has the innovative Face ID which scans your face to secure your data and information from others. Apple states that Face ID is more secure than fingerprint sensors due to many reasons also dedicated elements like Dot projector, Flood illuminator, and an Infrared camera is featured on the device to enhance the capability and power of the Face ID.

Other Features

One of the major drawbacks of iPhones are rectified with this model as all the models from iPhone 8 will be supporting wireless charging feature which most users will find convenient. Also, this model will be getting an iOS 11 update so that the new hardware will be accompanied by the latest software. Similarly, using iPhone has also become easy as the home button is eliminated and the phone wakes up with just a tap on the screen or it can be woken up by motion. With the introduction of the latest processor, Augmented Reality games and applications are much easier to use. The device has the dimensions of a regular iPhone and weighs less than 200 grams but due to the all-screen feature, the screen size is larger than all the iPhones ever produced
